Sage Fishing Rods
The Sage fly rod first came into play under veteran
rod constructor Don Green. His purpose was to construct the greatest fly fishing rod in the world. He put
together the distinctive traits of nine, different, fly rod types constructed by Sage Rod Company. Sage Rod
Company’s most recent rod expands the company’s capability to accurately match the casting strengths and
techniques of individual fishermen.
Greene’s first idea of the fly rod was that it ought
to never run out of power. He thought that under standard casting circumstances, the highest flex of the rod
ought not to be used. If you had extra potential set aside, this meant you could better control the rod under
tricky circumstances.
Later in 1986, the Sage company released a fly
fishing rod made specifically for saltwater fishing named the RPLX. They also added a two handed spey rod to
their listings. These products were patterned after European styles. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, the
company’s status and market share grew until it became the world’s top rated fly rod producer.
In 1994, the Sage Company formed the first,
really fresh, rod design in 10 years. At the time of the release of the new rod, there was also a release of the
hit movie “A River Runs Through It”. The popularity of the film formed
an enormous order for the Graphite IV SP. The rod was constructed of a carbon filament rod using an innovative,
scrim substance named Durascrim. It was a light polyester weave cloth. The substance reinforced joints and provided
a flexible, finishing coat of security.
Today the Sage Company is in its fifth generation
of technology utilizing carbon fiber rod portions of diverse strengths to go with the demands of particular rod
sections. The rods are made for maximum performance. The most recent Sage Company development is the TCX that was
released in 2008.
