Telescopic Fishing Rods

I take fishing very seriously. When I’m looking at fishing poles, I gravitate to the top, single piece rods. However, there are occasions when it is inconvenient to drag around the usual gear. The telescopic rod gives us the option to pack lighter and still fish when the chance arises.

When we go to canoe areas, it is essential to travel light. Having bulky gear is extremely inconvenient when making an overland move. With a telescopic fishing rod, I’m able to pack light and indulge in some fishing while I am on the water.

These rods are usually made up of sections that fall into each other. They are built with exactly the same materials as standard rods. Every segment of each rod has a tip with a special eye that gives the section strength. Telescopic rods do a fairly good job at casting and reeling when they are fully extended. They collapse down to around 12 inches. This makes them quite portable.

Of course the single piece rod has more sensitivity and strength, but there are instances when it is impossible to pack a 7 feet rod. For those times, it is great to have the option of a telescopic fishing rod.
